Mulling over Spices -  Demonstration or Workshop

Demonstration:

Our presenter will give a talk on spices - especially those used in wintertime - and their history.  We will process some fresh spices into a mulled spice recipe and simmer some mulled apple cider on the side to sample at the end of the presentation.

Workshop:

If doing this as a workshop we would invite the residents at the end of the demo to join in making little sachets with mulling spices for mulled wine or apple cider.  They will each fill a tea bag with mulling spices, wrap it in a decorative napkin and lcose it with a gift ribbon and tag.  This can be used for mulling apple cider or be given away e.g. as Christmas goodies!
